Thermal treatment method for waste involving combustion (variable technology and temperature depending on the type of waste) and treatment of the flue gases. This technique gives rise to three categories of waste: bottom ash, ash and flue gas treatment residue. At most facilities, the energy recovered from the heat generated by incineration is used to generate electricity or produce heat.
