Poland - Major biomass combustion project

Dalkia is to build two biomass-exclusive boilers for the Lodz and Poznan cogeneration plants.

700,000 metric tons of biomass—80% from forests—will be used to replace coal by 2011.

By 2012, the project will surpass the 15% renewable energy target set by Poland's energy policy and will cut annual CO2 emissions by 460,000 metric tons.
