Dalkia wins energy contract for London Green Buildings programme

The Mayor of London has announced that Dalkia, the leading energy services company, has won a contract to make a number of the Greater London Authority Group's buildings more energy efficient.

Dalkia was selected for its ability to meet the strict criteria for energy and project management as well as the implementation of energy measures over a range of services. Dalkia is the first energy services company to provide a wide ranging and fully integrated approach to carbon management, embodied in Dalkia CarbonCare, launched in the UK in 2007. The service enables organisations to work towards carbon neutrality by implementing a concept to completion approach to energy management.

The contract forms the first stages of work to deliver on the deal developed by the Clinton Climate Initiative for the C40 cities at the New York Large Cities Climate Summit, with the aim of cutting carbon emissions by making existing buildings more energy efficient. Dalkia's selection for the contract highlights its excellent track record in the public sector, and its innovative approach to tailored energy management solutions, which consistently saves over 4.6 million tonnes of carbon each year for its customers across the world.

Luis Pais Correia, Chief Executive Officer of North Atlantic Zone at Dalkia comments:

"The CarbonCare programme comes as a result of Dalkia's impressive expertise as a global energy services provider. We have worked hard to provide a fully integrated service that is tailor-made to meet the energy requirements of our customers. Our activity, vision and service accurately reflected the requirements needed for the Greater London Authority Group's energy contract to deliver an effective carbon management programme. We have the proven experience and knowledge with our customers' operations to guarantee the carbon targets set in the contract to generate substantial savings."

Work will commence on 20 properties from the Greater London Authority Group, covering the Metropolitan Police Authority and the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority.

Dalkia CarbonCare is a service that can be tailored to suit the individual requirements of any organisation operating across a broad range of industry sectors, from healthcare and education, to manufacturing and retail or commercial premises.
