Dawn of a new Dalkia entity

Having a handle on telecommunications technology is crucial in today's business environment. Dalkia is rising to the challenge, building on its tried-and-tested skills to create a dedicated new setup.

Dalkia Infrastructures de Télécommunications

Dalkia has been integrating and honing skills in new information and communication technologies (ICT) over the past 10 years, with a view to operating and servicing leading telecom networks in France and abroad. Its services include supervision, engineering and administration of 2G-3G wireless networks, WiMax, fixed transmissions (TDM, IP), radio relays and more.

Through its successful bids on comprehensive O&M contracts for all SFR/9 Cegetel mobile and landline network sites in southern France, Dalkia France has risen to become the country's leading provider of maintenance services, covering more than 16,000 sites, taking the number of Dalkia-operated telecom sites to over 50,000 in more than 10 countries.

In line with the scope of its operations, the company set up a new entity on January 1, 2010: Dalkia Infrastructures de Télécommunications. CEO Vincent Perret told us more about events leading up to the move:

These operations, which began in 1999, have seen strong growth over the past few years, both in France and abroad. Our success in securing these latest contracts was a real milestone. The time had come to set up a proper framework in order to ensure greater visibility. The new entity will in turn make it easier to gain a foothold in new markets, develop new solutions, and acquire fresh skills in a fast growing sector that is also a key driver behind innovation at Dalkia.

With an operational outfit of 350 people focusing on France (including 50 at the network operations center at the Cité Internationale de Lyon), Dalkia Infrastructures de Télécommunications also aims to pool expertise, share know-how, promote development and, where necessary, provide international services for the company as a whole.
