Existence of thermo-electric power station producing all steam requirements and 40% of electricity requirements. This station runs on fuel oil and residual refinery gases. The additional electricity requirement is supplied by the French power utility EDF.
INEOS Lavéra
Integrated energy and services.
The challenge
Veolia Environnement's solution
- Set-up of Lavera Energies (jointly owned by Dalkia and Air Liquide),
- design, construction and operation of 100 MW cogeneration station (commissioned in November 2000),
- maintenance and operation of power station and of the following utility distribution networks:
- electricity (170 GWh),
- steam (2 million tonnes at 78 bar),
- treated water (2.5 million m3),
- compressed air (100 million m3).
The benefits
- Customer has a single service provider and benefits from synergies between the thermo-electric and cogeneration power stations,
- this integrated offer should become even more attractive and efficient in the next few years.
